<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an iron-making process capable of suppressing the treatment temperature at <=1,000 deg.C, and preventing generation of carbon dioxide gas by using silicon and germanium for a reducing material. SOLUTION: An iron-making method comprises a first step of mixing raw iron ores with at least one kind of silicon and germanium, and a second step of heating the raw mixed material to reduce iron ores, and an iron-making device comprises a raw material mixing chamber for mixing the raw iron ores with at least one kind of silicon and germanium, a heating and reducing chamber for heating the mixed raw material to reduce iron core, and a heating and forming unit for heating the reduced iron in the heating and reducing chamber to form the iron into a stock iron. The reducing temperature is lower than that of a conventional method, and carbon dioxide gas is not generated, the power is saved, atmospheric emission of carbon particulates is reduced, carbon impurities in the produced iron is reduced, and the equipment cost of the manufacturing device is reduced thereby.</p> |
