PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus capable of appropriately judging whether or not the light amount of a laser light source for imaging by forming an electrostatic latent image on a photosensitive member is appropriate. SOLUTION: An imaging apparatus sets at a first light amount setting value an APC circuit in a sampling mode for measuring the potential V3a of an input voltage V3 to an error amplifier at the time and sending the voltage V3a to a CPU as digital data. After passage of certain time measured by a timer, it sets at a second light amount setting value the APC circuit in a sampling mode for measuring the potential V3b of the input voltage V3 to the error amplifier at the time and sending the same to the CPU as digital data. The CPU judges whether or not the APC operation is normal according to whether or not V3b-V3a is smaller than a predetermined value (set potential). In the case V3b-V3a is larger than the set potential, the APC operation is judged to be abnormal so that a display of the abnormal APC operation is outputted (steps S101-S105). |
