PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire different in bead diameters with a belt centered precisely to a carcass ply and a method for producing the tire. SOLUTION: The carcass ply 14 in which cords extend longitudinally from one side to the other side along a profile line in a cross section in the axial direction of a core while the core 32 is rotated is stuck to the core 32 supported by a rotary shaft 34 and formed in a prescribed shape, and the carcass ply 14 with the carcass ply 14 folded and stuck is stuck adjacently in the circumferential direction. By sticking the carcass ply 14 on the circumferential surface of the core 32 of a constant shape, the cross sectional shape in the axial direction of the carcass ply 14 is made constant so that the belt is centered precisely and can be stuck to the carcass ply 14. Accordingly, the straightly advancing properties of the pneumatic tire different in bead diameters which is produced in this way can be secured easily.
