PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cosmetic having at least two application modes. SOLUTION: The cosmetic is a milky cosmetic containing (1) 0.5-2 wt.% higher alcohol such as cetanol, stearyl alcohol and behenyl alcohol, (2) 0.5-2 wt.% fatty acid such as lauric acid, myristic acid, palmitic acid, stearic acid and behenic acid, (3) 1-3 wt.% hydrophilic nonionic surfactant and (4) 0.2-1 wt.% oleophilic nonionic surfactant exhibiting solid state at 25 deg.C under 1 atm such as stearic acid monoglyceride and sorbitan monostearate. The cosmetic can be used in two modes comprising the use as a milky lotion and the use as a wax to be rubbed on the skin.
