PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roll sheet supplying device and a recording device capable of preventing roll paper set on a roll unit from being wound turbulently and eliminating a deficiency originating from turbulent winding of the roll paper. SOLUTION: The roll unit 1011 admitting setting of the roll paper 1012 in such a way that it is rotated by a roll motor 1019 is composed of a sensing means such as a roll sensor 1015 to sense the turbulently wound condition of the roll paper and a control means to control the drive of the roll motor 1019 so as to restitute the wound condition when the sensing means has sensed turbulently wound condition.
