PURPOSE: A bicycle driven by reciprocating a pedal up and down is provided to relieve fatigue by improving the stability with leveling the pedal, and to travel forward by converting reciprocating motion of the pedal into rotation. CONSTITUTION: A power train apparatus of a bicycle includes a pedal(42) moving up and down by feet; a driving bar(40) connected to the pedal; a first up-and-down gear(71) having a shaft hole(77) and first and second gear tooth parts(73,75), and converting up-and-down motion into rotation; first and second plain gears(79,80) engaged with the first tooth part and the first plain gear; a second up-and-down gear(72) engaged with the second plain gear; and first and second unidirectional gears(87,88) engaged with second gear tooth parts(76) of first and second up-and-down gears, and rotated unidirectionally. The bicycle is driven with converting reciprocating motion of the pedal into rotation.
