PURPOSE: An SIR(Signal to Interference Ratio) measuring device for downlink power control in a mobile terminal is provided to measure the SIR of a mobile terminal more exactly for downlink power control. CONSTITUTION: An SIR measuring device consists of a lake finger(600), a noise measurement part(700), and a signal power measurement part(800). The lake finger(600) is comprised of a PN despreader(110), a walsh despreader(120), a mixer(130), a channel optimizer(1400, and a squarer(650). The noise measurement part(700) comprises a walsh despreader(310), a mixer(320), an error calculation part(330), a squarer(340), an adder(350), a multipath combiner(400), and an averager(760). The averager(760) calculates the mean symbol power. The signal power measurement part(800) comprises a multipath combiner(810), a squarer(820), an averager(830), and an adder(840).
