STYRENIC RESIN FOAM AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide styrenic resin foam having high heat insulating properties and fire retardancy equal to those of foam using a fluorocarbon without using the fluorocarbon as a foaming agent, and a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: The styrenic resin foam is obtained by extruding a styrenic resin containing a hydrocarbon and alkyl chloride as the foaming agent into a plate shape while foaming the same and characterized in that a mean air bubble diameterϕAV is 0.10-0.50 mm, the ratioϕVD/ϕAV of the air bubble diameterϕVD in the thickness direction of the plate andϕAV is 0.8-<1.2 and the residual gas quantity of the hydrocarbon is set to 3.5 wt.% or less. The styrenic resin foam is manufactured by extruding the styrenic resin with an MFR of 4-10 g/10 min and a die well ratio at a shearing speed of 200 s<-1> is not less than 1.8 into the plate shape using the foaming agent while foaming the same.
