PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized printer having various functions as well as a structure facilitating the maintenance. SOLUTION: In a thermal transfer printer of this printer 1, a recording material 10 is provided to a lowermost section of the printer 1 such that a prescribed image is printed on the recording material 10 to be discharged from a top face 2a of the printer 1; and a printing means consisting of a platen roller 18, a thermal head 16 and an ink unit 17 is provided to a portion above the recording material 10. The printer 1 comprises a recording means for recording a usage condition of the printer 1, and an information transmitting means for transmitting the usage condition of the printer 1.
