PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phosphor which exhibits a high luminance when excited with electron beams. SOLUTION: There are provided an electron-beam-excitable green phosphor comprising a compound represented by the compositional formula: (M1-a-b M 'a Erb )2 O3-x (wherein M is at least one element selected from the group consisting of Y, Gd, L, and Lu; M' is at least either Zn or Mg; (a) is in the range: 0.001<=a<=0.5; (b) is in the range: 0.001<=b<=0.2; and (x) is in the range: 0<=x<=0.5) and an electron-beam-excitable blue phosphor comprising a compound represented by the compositional formula: (L1-c-d L'c Tmd )2 O3-y (wherein L is at least one element selected from the group consisting of Gd, La, and Lu; L' is at least either Zn or Mg; (c) is in the range: 0.001<=0.5; (d) is in the range: 0.001<=0.2; and (y) is in the range: 2.0<=y<=0.5).
