METHOD FOR GROWING BEAN SPROUTS USING ULMUS DAVIDIANA VAR. EXTRACT

PURPOSE: A process of preparing bean sprouts by dipping soybeans in an elm tree extract and then cultivating in a conventional cultivator is provided to increase a germination rate and to reduce a putrefaction rate and to increase the crop of bean sprouts. CONSTITUTION: The stalk, root or bark of an elm tree, e.g. Ulmus davidiana var. japonica is added about 40 times with 50 to 100% ethanol and extracted at room temperature for 3 days. Soybeans are then soaked in the diluted extract for 12hr and cultivated in darkness in a bean sprout cultivator while sprinkling water.
