PURPOSE: A middle/low level radioactive waste disposal system and a method thereof are provided to dispose nonflammable or inflammable wastes by using only a plasma torch melting furnace. CONSTITUTION: A waste melting pot(10) provides a space for melting various waste drums including inflammable metallic waste drums and various nonflammable materials for forming a glass. A plasma torch(1) acts as a heat source of the melting pot(10). A dam(5) regulates a molten glass level in the waste melting pot(10). A molten glass developing pot(11) develops the molten glass flowing therein over the dam(5). An ammonia is injected through an ammonia injection hole(12) so as to resolve NOx before the exhaust gases generated in the molten glass developing pot(11) and the waste melting pot(10) are discharged through a discharging hole(8). An exhaust gas guiding passage(13) provides the time for reaction of the ammonia and the NOx.
