PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positive image forming material adaptable to a heat mode, capable of recording with high sensitivity, excellent in latitude in image formation and having improved scratch resistance. SOLUTION: The image forming material is obtained by forming a first recording layer containing (A) a water-insoluble and alkali-soluble resin and a second recording layer containing (B) a compound having at least two enol ether groups in one molecule, (C) a water-insoluble and alkali-soluble resin capable of forming a crosslinked structure by reaction with the component (B), (D) a photothermal conversion agent and (E) a thermal acid generator in order on a support. The component (B) is preferably a compound having enol ether groups of formula (1) (where R<1> -R<3> are each H, an alkyl or aryl). |
