PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a speed change controller for an automatic transmission capable of carrying out learning correction matching various traveling conditions. SOLUTION: In upshifting during a throttle full opening time, for example, a traveling condition of a vehicle is detected that it is in a hill climbing road traveling condition as shown by a solid line in the figure. In comparison with a standard traveling condition shown by an alternate long and short dash line in the figure, traveling resistance is higher while a vehicle acceleration a2 is lower, so that increase of the number Ne2 of engine revolutions is delayed. Therefore, correction by a correction value NoH2 matching the hill climbing road is carried out, and a speed change decision Us12 is outputted to speed a speed change decision USM2 outputted on the basis of a shift map matching the hill climbing road different from the standard traveling condition. When the number of engine revolutions NeI2 during a speed change is out of the range of the target number of engine revolutions NeK±β, learning correction of the correction value NoH2 is carried out by a correction amountα2. |
