PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply and inexpensively structure a gate valve, to simplify the operation of the gate valve, and to improve the reliability of the gate valve. SOLUTION: This gate valve 10 comprises a gate portion 18 rocking between a closing position Pa and an opening position P2, a pressing mechanism 30 capable of blocking through holes 14a, 14b of a valve box 16 by expanding/ contracting the gate portion 18, and an operating mechanism 32 rocking the gate portion 18 to a fulcrum under a function of a single cylinder 52 and energizing the pressing mechanism 30 to expand/contract the gate portion 18.
