PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problems with the segment of the process for production of powder of sintered high-speed steel in the process of production of this steel; a method for hydrogen reduction of a pulverized material mixture composed of an oxide and carbon eventually constituting the metallic components of sintered compact in terms of quantities and kinds is known but the ease and difficulty of the reduction among the oxides are not discriminated in this method and therefore the reduction conditions are those of hardly reducible matter and as a result thereof, a high temperature is required and secondary powdering is unavoidable; carbon is probably used for easing the primary powdering but is not laborless in adding the same; if the hydrogen reduction is not progressed to the extreme extent, the dissolved oxygen removable in a sintering process is possibly difficult. SOLUTION: Donative materials of a Cr component and a V component are formed to the non-reducible carbide. Accordingly, the hydrogen reduction object is only the easily reducible matter and therefore the lower reduction temperature is necessitated, the secondary powdering can be avoided and the formation of moldings is facilitated. Even if the degree of the hydrogen reduction is not much progressed, the residual oxygen can be removed without difficulty in the sintering process.
