SYSTEM AND PROGRAM FOR FULL TEXT RETRIEVAL

PURPOSE: To provide a means capable of speedily performing degraded operation in spite of the fault of a retrieval processor by updating and adding retrieval processing data at the same time with its retrieval concerning the full text retrieval system of a character string collating system for retrieving a large quantity of data in a short time by using a plurality of processors. CONSTITUTION: This system is provided with a retrieval integrating means 2 which divides retrieval object character string data 1 into a group of character string records to assign them to at least one retrieval processors 4, transmits a given character string retrieval condition to each processors 4, receives and integrates the result of retrieval; an addition and update temporary storage means 3 for temporarily storing only the record where the data 1 is added or updated; and an addition/update record retrieval indication means 8 for indicating the group of character string records stored in the means 3 as retrieval in-charge data to one of the processors 4 determined in advance.
