METHOD OF MANUFACTURING CERAMIC

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing oriented ceramics which permits the use of an ordinary firing furnace in firing and has the degree of orientation higher than the degree of orientation of the oriented ceramics manufactured by a TGG process if the same materials are used. SOLUTION: A powder mixture is obtained by mixing planar ceramic powder and calcined powder of ceramic raw materials. A ceramic slurry containing the powder mixture, a solvent and binder is obtained. A sheet is formed by molding the ceramic slurry. An oriented molding is obtained by pressurizing a laminate L formed by laminating a plurality of the sheets in a uniaxial direction in a mold 10, setting the length of the direction parallel to the pressurizing axis of the terminate L smaller than before the pressurization and setting the area of a surface perpendicular to the pressurizing axis of the laminate L greater than before the pressurization. The oriented molding is fired and sintered.
