PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cold seal adhesive improved in at least one of water resistance of ink jet-recorded printed letters, transferring properties and wear resistance of an adhesive layer. SOLUTION: The cold seal adhesive comprises a component (A): at least one selected among natural latices, modified natural latices and synthetic latices, and a component (B): at least one selected from amphoteric polymers, where a specific viscosity (ηsp ), which is represented by the equation (1):ηsp =(η-η<0> )/η<0> , [whereη<0> is a viscosity of a 1N NaCl aqueous solution at 30 deg.C; andηis a viscosity of a 10 wt.% aqueous solution of the component (B) in a 1N NaCl aqueous solution as a solvent at 30 deg.C], of a 10 wt.% solution of the component (Bw) in the 1N NaCl aqueous solution as the solvent is 0.5-4.0.
