PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a holding method for lens polishing work capable of making machining allowance on a fist working surface and a second working surface constant. SOLUTION: An adhesive 13 is applied at a flat surface position or a slant face which is not a spherical surface part, a lens 14 is placed on it and thereafter, a recessed plate 3 is air-cooled until the adhesive 13 is solidified without receiving an influence of curvature precision of a lens blank 14 at a standard holing position provided on a storage part to store a lens 14 of the recessed plate 2 under the holding method of the lens 14 on the recessed plate (holding member) 2 to polish and work by a polishing means by holding the lens 14 to work.
