PURPOSE: An apparatus for inputting the alphabet in a key pad and a method thereof are provided to maintain a simple key pad by inputting various symbols by a blind type control processing, implement an abbreviated input method through a simple code generated by using correspondent relationship of the alphabet and figures arranged on the key pad with applying a concurrent input method, thereby efficiently inputting the alphabet. CONSTITUTION: In a method that a pair of a representative consonant and a representative vowel are assigned to each button, consonants are inputted by the first hit and vowels are inputted by the second hit. If the same button is hit twice within a regular delay time, the input of the button is firstly recognized as the vowel. If the same button is hit twice over the regular delay time, the input of the button is firstly recognized as two consonants.
