PURPOSE: A recording/reproducing device capable of composing a play list and a method for composing the play list in the device are provided to reproduce files according to an already composed play list even in case of changing a recording/reproducing device by storing the list to a recording medium not to compose a new list whenever driving the recording/reproducing device. CONSTITUTION: A recording/reproducing device capable of composing a play list includes a recording/reproducing part(210) for carrying out reading or recording operation of file system information from or to a recording medium, a flash memory part(220) for storing the read file system information, a play list composing part(230) for composing a play list in the file system information, a manipulation panel part(240) for receiving commands for the play list composition from a user, and a control part(250) for outputting commands to record changed file system information to a recording medium to the recording/reproducing part when inputting a command to finish the composition of the play list via the manipulation panel part or withdrawing the recording medium.
