PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing funnel glass for a cathode ray tube which is suitable for recycling of color panels stuck with frit and panels for black and white and the funnel glass for the cathode ray tube. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the funnel glass for the cathode ray tube by using the panel glass or frit for the cathode ray tube as the raw materials of the funnel glass for the cathode ray tube comprises adding Fe2 O3 at 0.05 to 1 mass% to the glass raw materials in such a manner that the fluctuation in the light transmittance of a wavelength 1,050 nm at a glass thickness 10 mm of the funnel glass for the cathode ray tube is confined within 10%.
