PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brake caliper body without fastened parts to achieve a higher anti-distortion performance even in a high load condition in braking actuation, and a method for manufacturing that at a high material yield. SOLUTION: In a method for manufacturing a brake caliper body of aluminum alloy by forging, forging material is charged into a cavity formed of an upper die and a lower die of a metal mold. This forging is double-acting forging comprising a main forging molding process for forming a rough form of an outline of the brake caliper body by the upper die and the lower die using the metal mold including a movable ram in at least either of the upper die and the lower die, and a following forging molding process for forming a recessed part at a center part of the brake caliper body by means of the movable ram, and filling material into a material unfilled part of the mold to be molded.
