PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a xylylene group-containing polyamide which is difficult to discolor even on exposure to a high temperature atmosphere, and light-colored films, sheets, hollow containers, monofilaments or molded articles in the form of fibers which are molded from the polyamide. SOLUTION: The xylylene group-containing polyamide is obtained by polycondensing a diamine containing >=70 mol% xylylenediamine with a 4-12C aliphatic dicarboxylic acid, and the purity of the xylylenediamine to be used as the raw material diamine is >=99.9 wt.%, and the xylyene group-containing polyamide to be obtained by the polycondensation has a relative viscosity in the range of 1.0-5.0 and, simultaneously, a difference in the degree of yellowness (YI value) before and after the heat treatment in the air at 150 deg.C for one hour of <=5. |
