PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily discriminate the moving direction of an escalator or a moving sidewalk away from that or from the side by facilitating discrimination of behavior of the escalator or the handrail of the moving sidewalk. SOLUTION: A distinguishing mark 2b is applied to the side of a handrail main body 2a to visually discriminate the moving direction of the handrail main body 2a, whereby it can be discriminated whether the escalator or the moving sidewalk is moving or not, and if moving, the moving direction can be discriminated.
