PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moisture absorbing/releasing agent suppressing the wetting of a surface caused by a deliquescent substance at the time of moisture absorption, having high moisture absorbing/releasing capacity and a high moisture absorbing and desorbing speed in the vicinity of room temperature and capable of being inexpensively mass-produced by a simple process. SOLUTION: The moisture absorbing/releasing agent is constituted of a mixture of the deliquescent substance and carbonation treatment calcium silicate particles of which 50 wt.% or more is occupied by particles with a particle size of >0.15 and <=2 mm.
