PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a feather quilt from which residual formaline can be removed and in which there exists no possibility of remaining of harmful substances such as synthetic detergents and which is harmless to a body and has large down ball and high fitting properties and heat retaining properties and a method for manufacturing it. SOLUTION: The feather quilt consists of a quilt bag 6 and washed feathers 4 filled into this quilt bag 6 and these washed feathers are washed with a soap 5. Therefore, residual formaline can be removed and there exists no possibility of remaining of harmful substances such as the synthetic detergents and down ball is large and fitting properties and heat retaining properties are high.
