PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underwater propulsion machine capable of reducing the physical load of an operator by allowing the operation by the operator in an easy posture. SOLUTION: This underwater propulsion machine 1 comprises a body 2 provided with a drive source controlled by an output regulating means and a propulsion unit (propulsion means) 6 rotated by the drive source to generate a required thrust, and a float 3 capable of placing the upper body of the operator mounted on the rear part of the body. The float 3 can be constituted separately from the body 2, and this is attachably and detachably mounted on the body 2. According to such a structure, the operator can operate the underwater propulsion machine 1 in an easy posture because the upper body is supported by the float 3, whereby the physical load of the operator can be reduced.
