摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas cleaning method reducing the return amount of gas, having the high recovery ratio of a volatile organic compound and capable of efficiently separating and recovering the volatile organic compound from water even if the specific gravity of the volatile organic compound is almost the same as that of water. SOLUTION: In the exhaust gas cleaning method, two or more adsorption columns are used to alternately repeat an adsorption process of the volatile organic compound in exhaust gas and a regeneration process. A third flow port is provided to the body part of each of the adsorption columns and, during the initial purge period from the start of the regeneration process to a point of time when the residual gas of the adsorption process in the adsorption column is eliminated in the regeneration process, the residual gas is supplied to the other adsorption column in the adsorption process from the third flow port and the desorbed gas in the adsorption column is supplied to a recovery device for liquefying and recovering the volatile organic compound in the gas after the initial purge period is elapsed in the regeneration process and the return gas treated in the recovery device is supplied to the other adsorption column in the adsorption process.</p>
