PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dental spittoon which enables a patient to make gargling in an easy posture by pulling the spittoon toward the patient in gargling and is so constituted that the spittoon returns to its home position by itself simply when the spittoon is lightly pushed after gargling. SOLUTION: The spittoon 7 is attached to a spittoon base 10 rotatably attached to the upper part of a water feed and drain box and when the patient M stretchs his hand, holds a handle 11 disposed at the spittoon base and pulls the handle toward the patient, the spittoon 7 comes to the near side of the patient. The patient M gargles the inside of the oral cavity and discards the gargling water in the oral cavity into the spittoon 7. At this time, the spittoon exists on the near side of the patient and therefore the patient is able to discard the gargling water in the oral cavity into the spittoon 7 in the easy posture. The spittoon must be returned to the home position after the end of the gargling but the spittoon returns to the home position by itself by utilizing the force of a compression ring simply by pushing the spittoon so as to return the same in the original direction with light force.
