PURPOSE: A steel tube pipe cutting apparatus is provided to prevent safety accident of explosion due to high temperature plasma in advance by detecting explosive gas permeated into a steel tube pipe deeply stuck in the ground. CONSTITUTION: In a steel tube pipe cutting apparatus comprising a supporting plate put on the upper part of a steel tube pipe(9), a wire winding means installed on the supporting plate, a control part for controlling the winding means, a torch hung on the wire to spout out plasma by a plasma generator, and a plural moving wheels and driving wheels, wherein the driving wheels are integrally installed at a moving transfer car so that the driving wheels are driven by a driving motor, the steel pipe cutting apparatus is characterized in that a touch switch(43) interlockingly connected to the control part(41) to sense the proximity state of the cutting apparatus is mounted on the central bottom surface of the supporting plate(40), projecting elements(40b) are formed at both sides of the supporting plate(40), a gas sensor(25) is mounted on the upper surface in rear of the moving transfer car(21) to sound beep alarm by detecting explosive gas, an electronic signal generator(28) is mounted on the front end of the wire(27) tied to one side of the moving transfer car(21) to generate electronic signals, a torch direction control part(29) is mounted on the upper surface in front of the moving transfer car(21) to set and maintain direction of the torch(26), and a magnet is installed at the bottom of the moving transfer car(21) to be moved by adjustment of a height adjusting bolt.
