FIELD: power engineering. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for sealing fittings and valves operating at high pressures and temperatures of coolants in heat and nuclear power stations and other devices operating at high parameters of working media. Proposed gland seal designed for fixed and movable joints is made in form of two sealing rings of rectangular shape in cross section. At least one metal disk is installed between sealing rings in parallel with diametral plane for engagement with their end face surface over entire area and contacting with surface of joint element when gland seal is in operating position. Sealing ring installed from side of action of working medium has density less than density of other sealing ring, and it features plastic deformation properties. Other sealing ring features elastic properties. EFFECT: improved reliability of gland seal. 4 cl, 4 dwg
