PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image compressor and an image reproducing device that can compress and reproduce a multi-spectral image, an image in a color space independently of a device and illumination, or a multi-primary color image with high precision. SOLUTION: An image signal is classified into a plurality of clusters, to which cluster each image signal belongs is decided, and different image compression processing or image reproduction processing is applied to each cluster to obtain an image compressor or an image reproducing device at a high compression rate with excellent reproduction accuracy. Further, transmission/ reception data are made variable depending on the environment at transmission/ reception so as to efficiently transceive a multi-dimension image.
