PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an air conditioner having an outdoor unit operated by means of commercial power supply and an outdoor unit operated by means of a driving source other than the commercial power supply to operate the units by taking the advantages of each unit, to equalize the operating hours of the units, and, when either of the units gets out of order, to back up the unit. SOLUTION: Since at least either a calendar function or clock function is given to the central control section of this air conditioner so that the section may collectively control the integrated operating hours of both units, the operations of the units can be started from the unit having the shorter operating hours by taking the advantages of the units. In addition, the operating hours of the units can be equalized by switching the operations of the units to each other by rotation during the operation of the air conditioner.
