PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a single reel type cartridge capable of surely locking a reel while making it possible to surely suppress the looseness of a tape. SOLUTION: This single reel type tape cartridge has one reel 2, around which a magnetic tap 3 is wound, arranged inside a case main body 1 and has a reel lock mechanism for preventing the reel 2 from rotating when unused. The reel lock mechanism pressingly energizes a reel presser foot 16 toward a bottom wall of a boss 12 with a compressed coil spring 17 to make the lock gear teeth 19 and 20 of the boss 12 and the reel presser foot 16 engage with each other. Pitches P of the lock gear teeth 20 and the lock gear teeth 19 of the boss 12 are equal to each other and are also double the widths W between base ends of the lock gear teeth 20 and 19. In the space 19c between adjacent lock gear teeth 19 of the boss 12, a non-slip gear tooth 33 of the same shape as those of the lock gear teeth 19 is arranged with the same pitch as those of the widths W between the base ends of the lock gear teeth 19.
