PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of forming an excellent image by reducing an abnormal image caused by the adhesion of magnetic carrier to an intermediate transfer body. SOLUTION: This image forming apparatus is equipped with an image carrier 40, a developing device 61 developing a latent image formed on the image carrier 40 by using two-component developer consisting of toner and the magnetic carrier, a primary transfer means 11 including the intermediate transfer body 10 to which a toner image on the image carrier 40 is transferred and which carries the toner image, and equipped with a primary transfer member 62 for transferring the toner image to the transfer body 10, a secondary transfer means 22 equipped with a secondary transfer member 23 for transferring the toner image transferred and formed on the transfer body 10 to transfer material and a fixing device 25 for melting and fixing the toner image transferred to the transfer material. In the device, magnetic substance 12 is installed to be opposed to the transfer body 10 near the transfer body 10.
