PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical compensation sheet improving lowering of contrast and reversal of coloring and colors observed in viewing in an oblique direction from the above, below, left and right, a polarizing plate and a liquid crystal display device using them. SOLUTION: In the optical compensation sheet having a biaxial supporting body and an optically anisotropic layer with respective slow axes nearly perpendicularly intersecting with each other, the optical compensation sheet is provided with the biaxial supporting body with 20-65 nm RO (B), 60-200 nm Rt and 2.0-4.5 Rt/RO (B) and the optically anisotropic layer with 50-255 nm RO (LC) where the RO difference between the biaxial supporting body and the optically anisotropic layer [RO (LC)-RO (B)] is 35-70 nm and the RO ratio [RO(LC)/RO (B)] is 2.5-6.5 and the direction exhibiting the maximum RO (LC) value of the optically anisotropic layer is deviating from the sheet normal direction by 20-80 deg.. |
