PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to simply rewrite the contents of a program, to simplify operation and to reduce cost in survey program built-in type electronic surveying equipment. SOLUTION: The electronic surveying equipment is provided with a rewritable 1st storage means 25 for storing a program for driving the equipment, signal I/O means 26, 27 and a 2nd storage means 24 for storing a copy program for rewriting or copying the program stored in the 1st storage means 25. The program stored in the 1st storage means 25 is rewritten by the program inputted by the signal I/O means 26, 27.
