PEPTIDES SPECIFIC TO MELANOCORTIN RECEPTORS AND DERIVATIVES THEREOF

PURPOSE: Peptides specific to melanocortin receptors and derivatives thereof are provided. The peptides and derivatives thereof bind to subtype of melanocortin receptors specifically not to induce additional reaction except desired physiological reactions. CONSTITUTION: The peptides specific to the melanocortin receptors are represented by formula(1): R1-c(Cys-Xn-Cys)-R2, wherein R1 is acetyl; R2 is amine; X is amino acid or modified amino acid; c is a cyclic structure having a disulfide bond of cysteine in both ends of (Cys-Xn-Cys); and n is an integer of 6 or 7, wherein (Cys-Xn-Cys) has the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NOs: 1 to 6, respectively.
