PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means able to prevent both of the protrusion and the retraction of an optical fiber from a plug end surface. SOLUTION: A guide hole 20 into which a plastic optical fiber cable is inserted and fixed is formed in a plug 1 for the optical fiber cable. The guide hole 20 consists of a first insertion hole 30 and a second insertion hole 40. Only the tip part of the optical fiber cable having the tip part whose coating material is removed is inserted into the first insertion hole 30, and a portion which is communicated to the first insertion hole 30 and in which the coating material of the optical fiber cable is not removed is inserted into the second insertion hole 40. The first insertion hole 30 has an opening 31 at the tip side. A first diameter-enlarged part 32 is formed in the first insertion hole 30 apart from the opening 31. A second diameter-enlarged part 33 continuing to the opening 31 is formed at the tip side of the first part 32.
