PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color liquid crystal display device having high image quality even though the display device has low power consumption and a simplified structure and capable of substantially creating full color. SOLUTION: The color liquid crystal display device provided with a first substrate 2 consisting of a first transparent substrate 4 on which color filters (7R, 7G) and a transparent electrode 10 are successively layered on the inner side, a second substrate 14 disposed opposite to the first substrate 2 and consisting of a second transparent substrate 15 on which an active matrix array including pixel electrodes 16 disposed in a matrix shape on the inner side, a liquid crystal layer 11 encapsulated therebetween and a blue color light emitting means 20 disposed on the side opposite to the liquid crystal layer 11 of the second substrate 14 consists of only the red color filters 7R and the green color filters 7G respectively including the material receiving the light having wavelength except the required wavelength to be excited and emitting the light having required wavelength. |
