A power stage diagnostic system feeds a load (1) with supply (Vcc) from a divider (14) and measures the voltages on the divider through protection resistors (6, 7) at the inputs (4, 5) of a processor (17) that diagnoses the load using the high and low voltage found depending on load connection. An Independent claim is included for use with diode polarity protection.
