PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a scandia stabilized zirconia electrolyte for an oxygen separation system or an oxygen detection system in which the change of oxygen ion electrical conductivity in the lapse of time when used at a high temperature for a long time is reduced, and which stably maintains high electrical conductivity and gaseous oxygen permeability, and further has excellent high temperature strength and strength maintainability. SOLUTION: This scandia stabilized zircoina electrolyte for the oxygen separation system or the oxygen detection system contains at least one kind selected from the groups consisting of the oxides of the group 4A, 5A, 7A and 4B elements by 0.01 to 5 mass% based on scandia stabilized zirconia. |
