PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a light emitting element emitting a light of intermediate color through color mixing in which color mixing efficiency is enhanced while suppressing lowering of brightness. SOLUTION: The light emitting element comprises a plurality of LED chips 13 emitting light of different colors, an inside resin lens 12 for sealing the LED chips 13, an outside resin lens 11 formed around the inside resin lens 12, and a diffusion layer 18 formed of transparent resin mixed with a scattering material at least above the LED chips 13 of the inside resin lens 12.
