PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier and a developer capable of ensuring good dot reproducibility, good highlight reproducibility, high image density and high image quality with little surface stain, to provide a carrier and a developer also having high reliability and high durability and less liable to sticking of the carrier, to provide a developer container in which the developer is housed, to provide an image forming apparatus loaded with the developer container and to provide a method for manufacturing the carrier. SOLUTION: The electrophotographic carrier contains carrier particles comprising magnetic core material particles and a resin coating the surfaces of the core material particles and having >=76 emu/g magnetic moment at 1 KOe and 25-45μm weight average particle diameter Dw. The content of particles having <44μm particle diameter in the carrier is >=75 wt.%, that of particles having >=62μm particle diameter is <1 wt.% and that of particles having <22μm particle diameter is <=7.0 wt.%.
