PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber recoating device which makes effectively a recoated portion releasable from a mold. SOLUTION: In the optical fiber recoating device, the vicinity of right-and-left opening edges in the circular grooves 32a and 33a of at least one of the molds 32 and 33 is provided with straight inclined parts 32e and 33e so as to be opened larger than a groove radius. The recoated portion can effectively be released from the mold because a nearly perpendicular portion is no longer formed at the opening edges of the molds 32 and 33. The shape deformation of the recording part is suppressed within a satisfactory range by setting the aperture of the portion where both lines extended from the straight inclined parts 32e and 33e cross at about 6 degrees.
