PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile phone that can automatically set an operating mode depending on the environment in one operation without the need for a user using the mobile phone to make complicated key operations for modes such as a manner mode and a drive mode to set depending on the environment. SOLUTION: When the mobile phone is in standby for position registration after application of power, a TPO(Time, Place and Occasion) compatible operating program is started by a prescribed one-touch key operation. The mobile phone applies frequency analysis (31) to an environment sound picked up from a microphone 1 operated once at a plurality of access times with a base station to which the mobile phone registers its position, measures (21) its 'frequency' versus 'level', compares the measurement pattern with an environment sound pattern at a particular place stored in advance, discriminates (22) whether or not the environment of a current position corresponds to the particular place, and the mobile phone switches the operating mode corresponding to the place when the discrimination indicates the particular place. |
