PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluid substance-solidifying agent that can simply domestically dispose fluid waste materials, for example, waterborne paint, oil paint, washing solvent and the like into a reduced amount of solidified waste product with no trouble of environmental pollution even in the home. SOLUTION: The solidifying agent comprises (A) a water-absorbing resin with the water absorption capacity of 300-1,100 g/g in the deionized water and (B) an aluminosilicate salt with the oil absorption of >=50 ml/100 g at a ratio of 5-150 pts.wt. of the salt (B) to 100 pts.wt. of the resin (A). The resultant solidifying agent is added to fluid waste substance, they are uniformly mixed, allowed to stand and the resultant solidified product is discarded.
