PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information code reading device which is inexpensive and excellent in operability and can read a linear code fast and read even a two-dimensional code. SOLUTION: A code reader 1 is equipped with optical sensors 6 in linear array. When the linear code is read, the linear code is detected and decoded according to an image signal picked up by scanning a specific line on the read object 9. When the two-dimensional code is read, the code reader 1 is moved by a roller 15 so that a read opening passes over the read object 9. At this time, a rotational angle detecting means 21 detects the angle of rotation of the roller 15 and a scanning signal generation part 26 generates a scanning signal corresponding to the angle of rotation and the optical sensors 6 make a line scan corresponding to the scanning signal and a control part 24 detects and decodes the two-dimensional code according to an image picked-up signal. |
